Not long ago, Lexus distributed a teaser with future models, in which you can see the updated ES sedan. What will it be like?
The mid-size ES sedan is one of the company's oldest models — the first generation was introduced in 1989, the same year in which the Lexus brand was founded (the second model at that time was the executive LS). Today, the seventh generation of the car is already on the assembly line, which premiered in 2018. Since then, ES has received relatively minor updates a couple of times, and now, judging by the teaser, something more serious is being prepared.

So far, we have at our disposal the only image of the car with a front view, which shows that the sedan will receive a completely new front end. There are new headlights of a simpler shape with a signature “swoosh” of LED running lights, a narrow radiator grille between them and a new massive bumper. It is worth noting that, in all likelihood, the teaser shows a fully electric modification of the sedan, but we can assume that the traditional version will receive similar changes in appearance. From the side, no significant differences are expected, but from the rear you can expect the appearance of new lights: we have depicted a variant made in the style of the company’s new models. In addition, the sedan shown in the render received a new rear bumper.

The current Lexus ES is built on platform Global Architecture-K (part of the TNGA family), which is also used by the Toyota Camry of the last two generations. As for powertrains, the most significant upgrade could be the aforementioned all-electric versions. An indirect confirmation of this is the fact that the Japanese company recently registered the ES350e and ES500e indices.
