Sir Keir Starmer 'doesn't regret' party's controversial publicity campaign against Rishi Sunak, party insiders say.
Senior sources said Labor will continue to follow the same aggressive tactics, arguing that they should campaign in «fundamentals» and go «forward» to get their idea of law and order across.

The tweet, which has been viewed more than 21 million times since it was posted on Thursday, points to Justice Department data showing 4,500 adults convicted of having sex with children have escaped jail since conservatives took power in 2010. .

Still, Senior Source in the Labor Party said that Sir Keir and his team «regret nothing».
The source added: «It is absolutely correct to emphasize the position of the Tories on these issues, and the fact that Rishi Sunak is the prime minister means that he is solely responsible for the position of the Tory Party on these issues.»

Labor Party sources have confirmed that neither Sir Keir nor Ms Cooper saw the words or graphics used in the tweet before it was published.

A second Labor Party source said the sentencing campaign was led by Steve Reid, shadow secretary of justice, so she was not involved.

In today's Daily Mail, sir Keir said he «absolutely made no apologies for the harshness» of the government's «software» crime record as he confirmed he would not shy away from attacks such as scandalous ads.
