Melania Trump responded to 'speculation' about unexplained absences since her husband's arrest for paying a porn star to keep quiet.
The former first lady's rare public comments followed reports that Donald Trump, 76, urged her to be more visible during his presidential campaign in 2024.
According to gossip website Page Six, Trump told his wife, «I really need you for this.»
Mrs Trump, the 52-year-old woman was photographed with her husband at an Easter brunch at their home in Mar-a-Lago, Florida. Sources say she «agreed to be involved» in her husband's campaign.
One source told Page Six that the former first lady's appearance was «a big statement.»
«It was a statement that said, 'We are together, I support my husband,'» they added.
This follows Ms. Trump's conspicuous absence from his national speech at the Seafront Mansion as he spoke out against prosecution in New York.
Mr. Trump was arrested and pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business documents last week in connection with payments to porn star Stormy Daniels shortly before his 2016 election victory.
Ms. Daniels claims that she had an affair with Mr. Trump in 2006, shortly after Melania gave birth to the couple's son, Barron.
Mr. Trump repeatedly denied the affair and claimed the payments were intended to protect him family, not his presidential campaign.

She has also received less attention in the White House than her predecessor Michelle Obama or her successor Jill Biden, both of whom have played a more active role in her husband's campaigns.
One source close to Mrs. Trump. confirmed this position to People magazine.
“Melania is not currently involved or has not recently taken part in her husband’s political activities,” they said. «She's uncomfortable.»
In a rare statement on Monday, the former first lady's office said, «News organizations have done speculation about the former first lady's position on personal, professional and political issues over the past few weeks.
