Honda's premium Acura brand has unveiled the top Type S version of the Integra compact liftback. The novelty is equipped with a 2.0-liter petrol turbo engine with 324 hp, manual gearbox and sports suspension.
The Integra liftback is currently the youngest model in the Acura line, the more compact Acura ILX sedan was discontinued last year. On the American market, the modern Acura Integra debuted last spring with a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine (203 hp, 260 Nm), and now the presented “charged” version of the Type S, which inherited the technology from the latest generation Honda Civic Type R.

The Acura Integra Type S chassis has an extended track, which in turn required wheel arch extensions (+71 mm to the width), thanks to which the body looks more “muscular” than that of the base Integra. In addition, there were plumper sills, a more aggressive front bumper with larger air intakes, a radiator grille with a more openwork mesh, an aluminum hood with a ventilation slot, a new rear bumper with a diffuser and a three-barrel exhaust in the center, carbon fiber rear spoiler and mirror housings. Completing the look are specially designed 19″ wheels wrapped in 265/30 R 19 Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.
1/6 2/6 3/6 4/6 5/6 6/6 < p>The front seats in the Integra Type S have reinforced side bolsters and contrasting upholstery made of perforated suede and leather, the steering wheel is upholstered in suede, the gear lever knob is made of titanium. The 10.2-inch instrument screen draws large arrow dials for the speedometer and tachometer, it is complemented by a 5.3-inch projection screen, the size of the multimedia screen is 9 inches. A premium 16-speaker ELS Studio 3D audio system is standard. The rear seat is designed for two, but has a folding asymmetrical back (60/40). Trunk capacity — 688 liters.
The 2.0-liter K20C1 turbo four on the Acura Integra Type S produces a maximum of 324 hp. at 6500rpm and 420Nm at 2600-4000rpm, there is a bypass valve in the exhaust system for a dramatic ride sound. Gearbox — only 6-speed «mechanics» with an automatic engine speed adjustment system during shifts, all power is transmitted to the front wheels through a self-locking differential.

Suspension — spring with adaptive dampers, front — McPherson type with separate steering knuckles, rear — multi-link. The brakes are supplied by Brembo and are 350 mm front (four-piston calipers) and 305 mm rear (single-piston calipers).

Dynamic performance and Acura Integra Type S price has not yet been announced. The sports liftback will be available to US dealers in June and will be built at Honda's Marysville, Ohio plant.
