Lancia, owned by Stellantis Corporation, continues to prepare for a relaunch and entry into the large European market: the Pu + Ra HPE concept is presented, many features of which we will see in the next production novelties of Lancia.
Last November, Lancia unveiled a new logo and manifesto sculpture, the Pu+Ra Zero, which has now evolved into the Pu+Ra HPE concept electric coupe. The Pu + Ra formula stands for Pure + Radical, which translates into Russian as “pure and radical”. The HPE abbreviation is borrowed from the Lancia Beta HPE shooting brake developed in the late 70s, where it stood for High Performance Estate (“high-performance station wagon”), and now stands for High Performance Electric (“high-performance electric vehicle”).

The look of Pu+Ra HPE clearly demonstrates Lancia's new design language — an eclectic combination of modern and classic, sharp corners and circles, the main shaping shapes are a circle and a triangle.

Finishing is 70% sustainable and recycled: for example, the door cards are made of a composite based on marble dust and recycled textiles, and the striped “belt” around the rear seats is made from wood shavings and furniture factory waste. The lower part of the cabin is covered with eco-friendly nubuck, the floor is covered with a round natural wool carpet with a three-dimensional effect.

The center of the front panel has the shape of a horizontal disk, one of the sectors of which can go down and acts as a multimedia screen — all the main settings of the electric car are “sewn up” into it. The new multi-mode design interface is called S.A.L.A (Sound Air Light Augmentation), and its first production carrier will be the next generation Ypsilon hatchback, which will hit the market in 2024.
The Lancia press service said very little about the technical stuffing of Pu + Ra HPE: the declared power reserve on a single charge is over 700 km, the battery can be charged in just over 10 minutes (a hint of 800-volt architecture), the energy consumption will be less than 10 kW h per 100 km. Tires with a unique lateral pattern that is an extension of the wheel spokes were made by Goodyear for the concept.

Following the new Ypsilon, which will be offered as a hybrid and an electric vehicle, Lancia will introduce a purely electric Gamma crossover in 2026, and a new Delta will appear in 2028 — also electric. In the same 2028, Lancia will completely switch to electric vehicles, meaning the «hydrocarbon» versions of the Ypsilon will disappear from sale. , but in 2024, after the debut of the new Ypsilon, she will return to greater Europe: a new distribution network is already being prepared, there will be compact but sophisticated showrooms in about 60 cities in Europe, while Stellantis management expects that about half of the new Lancia will be sold through internet.
