This year's Shanghai Motor Show was very rich in concepts, we talk about some of the most interesting and spectacular — for example, a large luxurious crossover Hongqi E-LS, which will also turn into a production model in a couple of years.
The Chinese auto industry is torn into the luxury segment, and the flagship brand Hongqi (read “hongzi”, translated from Chinese means “red banner”) of the state concern FAW is among the first, especially since it was originally created in the late 50s of the last century as a nomenclature, she has a lot of experience in the development of luxury cars. Today, Hongqi is focused more on private consumers than on government agencies, and therefore the design of many new products is civil and very creative, the latest example is the large crossover E-LS.

Hongqi E-LS debuted at the Shanghai Auto Show as a concept, but Chinese media reports that it will become a production model in 2025, a luxury electric executive SUV. The concept impresses with a giant “grill” and cobweb-like lighting (even the wheels are highlighted), the view from the stern can even be called elegant. There are no door handles, no B-pillars either.
There is no steering wheel, pedals or the left front seat — instead of it, a soft footrest for the main VIP passenger is laid on the floor decorated with marvelous divorces. The concept, obviously, is positioned as completely unmanned, but the production car, of course, will be equipped with traditional controls. The front panel is just one big curved screen. Another screen is built into the floor and stretches along the cabin, going up behind the backs of the second row seats. The transparent ceiling is visually divided by a longitudinal rib. The decor, meanwhile, is very minimalistic, but almost all is made of pink gold.

There is no information about the technical stuffing yet, but in this case it is not so important — the E-LS concept reports mainly on the evolution of the style of the «red banner» brand. The style, frankly, is not for everyone, but you can't deny Chinese designers courage.
