The Maxus brand belongs to the Chinese concern SAIC, it «grew» from the British company LDV. To date, under this brand in the Celestial Empire, the production of vans, passenger minivans, SUVs, crossovers and pickups has been launched. Now the manufacturer has decided to develop a novelty in the last of the listed segments. We are talking about a large Maxus GST pickup truck, which debuted at the Shanghai Motor Show as a concept.

The Maxus GST has a two-row cab with hinged doors, a black top and A-pillars, and a large cargo area. The presented concept has relief forms, “squared” wheel arches and door frames “echoing” them. The front part is occupied by a large black plug, located in place of the traditional radiator grille. It is framed by LED running lights, and the main headlight units are inscribed in this frame, the center of which is occupied by a glowing inscription with the brand name. jpg» />The pickup truck received vertically arranged lamps of four elements each. They are interconnected across the entire width of the stern with a thin luminous strip. Below we again see the brand name written in huge letters. This concept also has original two-tone wheels, off-road tires and recessed door handles.
The interior of the concept truck is designed for four riders, on the front panel there is a large horizontal display that combines a virtual “tidy”, a central touchscreen of a multimedia system, and a screen for the front passenger. The driver got a “flattened” multifunction steering wheel with a cut-off top. The second row has two separate passenger seats.
The main task of the Maxus GST concept is to demonstrate the new electric vehicle development platform SAIC. It assumes the presence of a capacious «semi-solid» traction battery, a four-motor system (one electric motor for each wheel). The show car has a combined output of more than 1,000 hp and a maximum torque of 14,000 Nm. » />
The company announced that the range on one charge for such a pickup should be more than 1000 km. Which cycle the manufacturer used to calculate is not specified, but it is probably the CLTC used in China. Maxus GST will receive a number of autopilot features, including an automatic parking system that can park even an electric car with a trailer on its own. .jpg» />
Recall that at the end of last year, the frame SUV Maxus Territory entered the home market. The model is a modernized D90 all-terrain vehicle, which has been in service since 2017. The model is available in six- and seven-seat versions. The SUV is offered with a 2.0-liter diesel engine with two turbochargers, its power is 218 hp. (500 Nm), an eight-speed «automatic» is offered in a pair.
