Ford announces delivery of F-150 Lightning large electric pickup truck to Norway, the country with the highest share of electric vehicle sales in the world .
Large American pickups have come to Europe on the «green» wave. Ford claims that its Norwegian customers have been begging dealers to bring them the F-150 Lightning, and now their pleas have been answered: a limited batch of Lariat Launch Edition fixed-edition electric pickups in rich Antimatter Blue color will arrive in this country from America.

Why is the party limited? The fact is that in America itself there is still a large shortage of the F-150 Lightning: Ford underestimated the demand for this model and it will take time to increase its production volumes. Last year, sales of the Ford F-150 Lightning in the US totaled just 15,617 units, while orders for them were collected about 200,000, that is, a long queue was created. This year, Ford expects to produce 150,000 electric pickups, so there won’t be enough for everyone anyway, but a batch will still be shipped to Norway, if only out of respect for the Norwegians’ zeal for electric trains, despite the harsh climate.

The share of electric vehicles in the Norwegian fleet reached 21% last year. The share of electric vehicles in the sales structure of new cars is very high: for example, in March of this year it was 86.8% (16,811 units), 10.4% are hybrids, the rest are traditional «hydrocarbon» models. The Norwegian authorities expect that as early as 2025, all new cars and light commercial vehicles sold in the country will have zero emissions, that is, they will turn out to be electric vehicles or hydrogen cars.

The Ford F-150 Lightning is an inherently commercial electric vehicle, but it is also addressed to lovers of outdoor recreation: a lot of provisions, tents and expeditionary ammunition can be loaded into the truck — the front trunk alone holds 400 liters. In this regard, it is somewhat strange that not the long-range version of the Extended Range with a 131 kWh battery will come to Norway, but the Standard Range with a 98 kWh battery. A full charge will last for 386 km on the American EPA cycle, Ford has not yet measured the range on the European WLTP cycle. The maximum charging power is 150 kW, it allows you to replenish the charge from 15 to 80% in 39 minutes.
The power plant of the Standard Range version consists of two electric motors (one per axle), their combined output is 458 hp. and 1050 Nm, acceleration to 100 km/h takes less than 5 s. Pickup capacity — 805 kg, permissible weight of the towed trailer — 3492 kg, overall length — 5911 mm, width — 2032 mm, height — 1989 mm, wheelbase — 3696 mm, ground clearance — 213 mm.
The Ford F-150 Lightning will be priced at 1,183,000 kroons in Norway, or $111,545 at current exchange rates. At home, an electric pickup truck in a similar configuration will cost much less — from $ 75,974, and for $ 98,074 you can already become the owner of the top Platinum version with a large Extended Range battery and a 588-horsepower power plant. In the not too distant future, Ford may offer the F-150 Lightning to other European countries, but first America needs to get its fill of it.
