The End of Tucker Carlson's reign as the unofficial king of Fox News is a blow to Donald Trump as he seeks to rally his supporters ahead of the 2024 election.
Despite Carlson's time occasionally sends private text messages critical of the former president, his late-night show was something of a bullhorn for the MAGA movement.
Mr. Trump was an avid spectator and often praised Carlson at his rallies.
In recent weeks, Carlson has broadcast new footage of the January 6, 2021 U.S. Capitol riots alleging that Trump supporters were just «tourists».
Whoever replaces him may not be in the same position or generate the same amount of viewership and enthusiasm, meaning Trump could be the loser.

Carlson's journey to become America's most watched and one of the most controversial cable news anchors began when he joined Fox in 2009.
In 2017, he took over an 8:00 p.m. program called «Tucker Carlson Tonight» and began giving monologues on issues such as immigration and gun control. politics.
Despite his growing political influence, Carlson lives far from Washington, DC, in rural Maine, and sometimes records his show there.
His relationship with Trump was strained when Fox News left the former president after the 2020 elections.
Mr. Trump's so-called «soft ban» meant that Fox News did not conduct a live interview with Mr. Trump between September 2022 and the last month.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, archrival Mr. Trump in the 2024 Republican election nomination, he has appeared online a dozen times already this year.
Following the recent leak of his text messages in the Dominion Voting Systems defamation case in which Carlson spoke about Trump : «I hate him with a passion — the host was trying to clean up the mess.
He described how he was «furious» and «absolutely furious» that his private text messages were made public.

At the time, he was angry that the Trump team had given him incorrect information about the 2020 election, he said.
Carlson said Trump called him on the phone. «everyone is hurt by these messages,» he explained.
He added, «I'm pretty straightforward, I love Trump.»
Two weeks ago, Carlson devoted his entire program to a «historic interview» with Trump, and no text messages were mentioned.
However, Carlson's indiscreet texts also showed that at one point he was viciously critical of Fox News management. calling them «incompetent liberals» losing audience credibility.
Much of what he wrote was redacted for legal action, but content allegedly derogatory to the network became known to senior management.
It was not immediately clear whether these reports were serious enough to lead to the end of Carlson's tenure.
Whatever the reason for his departure, he had the potential to enter politics in as a candidate.
His show has established him as one of the most influential and well-known figures in Republican politics.
A visit to Iowa last year sparked speculation about a potential presidential candidacy.
