G-Drive pilots of the Russian circuit racing series come to the Smolensk circuit to fight for the titles of champions and holders of the Russian Cups. Three combat races will be held on Saturday and Sunday, during the breaks between which everyone will be able to plunge into the unique atmosphere of the Festival of Speed.
4 classes of cars participate in the competition. Nostalgic Zhiguli, it seems, just left the assembly line half a century ago — however, in terms of speed on the highway, they will give odds to modern foreign cars.
Even faster are the special CN Sport Prototype racing cars. The basis of this offset is Shortcuts — a domestic development based on the legendary British Lotus 7.
Super-production machines attract with a variety of technical solutions. Rivaling front-wheel drive hatchbacks and sedans with classic coupes, the familiar naturally aspirated 1.6-liter to 2.0-liter turbocharged engines, these 250-horsepower cars can do a lot.
The most prestigious is the SMP TCR Russia class, in which exactly the same cars compete as in the touring car World Cup. Particular attention is given to three new products at once: Hyundai Elantra TCR, Audi RS3 LMS and the latest generation Cupra Leon.
Regardless of the class, all racing vehicles will be filled with high-tech G-Drive fuel from the Gazpromneft filling station network, which is used not only by ordinary motorists, but also by professional pilots. In order for gasoline to help racers improve performance, it is regularly tested under extreme conditions. G-Drive has already been tested by the Russian circuit racing series in the 2022 season, the Silk Way rally-raid, drift and endurance races of the SMP RSKR Endurance.
Throughout all stages, the equipment of the participants is accompanied by a mobile laboratory, which provides fuel quality control. She also conducts regular inspections at Gazpromneft gas stations. Using such a mobile van with modern equipment inside, you can analyze about 10 main parameters of gasoline and diesel in less than half an hour, which allows you to quickly monitor its quality.
