Vivek Ramaswami wants Elon Musk to be his presidential adviser

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswami promised to invite Elon Musk and Donald Trump as advisers if elected.

The 38-year-old businessman whose Poll ratings soared in the race for the presidency. Nominated by the Republican Party after last week's debate in Milwaukee, he promised to end Trump's America First program and follow Musk's lead by cutting government spending.

Mr Ramaswamy, seen as a potential vice candidate -President Trump, said he would like to benefit from the experience of the former president.

“I will invite him as an adviser and mentor. I don't want to repeat the same lessons. I want to pick up where he left off against the administrative state,” he said on NBC’s Meet the Press Sunday.

Mr. Musk, the billionaire owner of SpaceX, Tesla and Twitter showed how companies can be downsized, Mr. Ramaswamy said.

«What he did on Twitter is a good example of what I want to do with the administrative state,» said Mr. Ramaswamy in an interview with Fox News last week. .

«Remove 75 percent of the value of the 'live cargo', improve the actual impression of what he's supposed to do.

«He put an X through Twitter, I'll put a big X through the admin state,» he added. «So, that's where I stick with Elon.»

Mr. Ramaswamy has said he will close the Department of Education, the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

“Mass layoffs are absolutely what I will bring to Washington. bureaucracy,” he said.

In the early stages of the campaign, Musk supported Ron DeSantis by posting an interview with the Florida governor on his social media page.

But more recently, as Ramaswami moved closer to DeSantis, Musk called him «a very promising candidate.»

While Ramaswamy was gathering support among Republican supporters, Karl Rove, a veteran and widely respected party strategist, expressed doubts.

He told radio talk show host John Katsimatidis that he thought Mr. Ramaswamy's performance at the debate was robotic.

“Reflecting this was his comment that everything else on stage was bought and paid for, which , in my opinion, was so excessive that it reflected his way of thinking: I am the only perfect person on stage, ”he said.
