TOKYO, November 22, Ksenia Naka The performance of Russian ballet dancers in the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan hall made an impression on the Japanese public, the correspondent reports.
Russian and world stars took part in the divertissement performance that opened the performances in Tokyo «Muses of Ballet»:
- Philip Stepin and Mei Nagahisa (Mariinsky Theater);
- Angelina Vorontsova and Ernest Latypov (Mikhailovsky Theater);
- Charles- Louis Andre Yoshiyama (Zurich Ballet);
- Vadim Muntagirov (Royal Ballet of Great Britain);
- Jacob Feiferlik (Bavarian State Ballet);
- Alena Kovaleva (State Bolshoi Theater);
- Alina Cojocaru (English National Ballet );
- Xander Parish (Norwegian National Opera and Ballet).
The artists performed parts from the ballets «Romeo and Juliet» by Sergei Prokofiev, «The Sleeping Beauty» and «Swan Lake» by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, «Cor perdut» by Maria del Mar Bonet, «Giselle» by Adolphe Adam, «The Dying Swan» by Camille Saint-Saëns and » Don Quixote» by Ludwig Minkus.
The audience began to applaud several times and shout “Bravo!” before the end of the performance. Thus, the final ovation began in the middle of the last number of the program — the pas de deux of Kitri and Basil from the ballet «Don Quixote» performed by Vorontsova and Latypov.
As a farewell, the artists presented a collage of short solo numbers.
At the end, to thunderous applause and enthusiastic screams, the curtain was raised three times.
Two more concerts will take place in Tokyo on November 23, and the performance will be shown in Osaka on November 25.
