YAROSLAVL, February 6 The prosecutor's office of the Yaroslavl region and the investigative authorities intend to find out whether at school in Yaroslavl the student was actually subjected to sexual and physical violence by a classmate, about what the victim’s family told the regional children’s ombudsman.
On Tuesday, in the Telegram channel of the Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Yaroslavl Region, Mikhail Krupin, a publication appeared that the family of a schoolboy contacted him, alleging sexual actions against him by a classmate, as well as cases of beating of a child at school.
“A conflict situation arose in the class, the injured child was repeatedly subjected to physical violence, and in one of these cases he received a traumatic brain injury,” the ombudsman said in a statement.
At the same time, Krupin emphasized, during the inspection it was established that the investigation of the incident was not organized by the school management, and information about the incident was not sent to law enforcement and supervisory authorities. In this connection, the Ombudsman decided to forward the information to law enforcement and supervisory authorities himself.
The Prosecutor's Office of the Yaroslavl Region and the Regional Investigation Department promptly responded to the publication and announced the start of verification of the published information.
“»During the inspection, an assessment will be made of compliance with the requirements of the legislation on the prevention of delinquency and crimes of minors and in relation to them, including issues of the safety of life and health of children,» the regional prosecutor's office said in a statement.
