MOSCOW, February 8 Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova promised to report to Russian President Vladimir Putin about work on a genetic program at a forum dedicated to medical technologies .
“And we understood this very clearly and traced it to the genetic program that we are implementing and which we will tell you about very soon next week at the forum,” Golikova said during a meeting of the Council for Science and Education in the mode video conferencing.
She noted that the peculiarity of medical science is that the results of scientific research are obtained not only in scientific laboratories, but also in healthcare institutions. Any scientific development undergoes clinical trials in healthcare institutions, and this is important to take into account.
“And it is very important for us that there is no gap between fundamental developments and what then becomes applied science and is introduced into practice. And this is an absolute feature of medical science, since it works with a specific person and a specific patient,” Golikova added.
The Forum of Future Technologies will be held in Moscow on February 13-14, 2024. The event is held within the framework of the Decade of Science and Technology in Russia, announced from 2022 by decree of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The program included sessions “Digital technologies as the basis for medical safety of production”, “Why does the brain need to connect to a computer?”, “Artificial intelligence: saving lives in critical conditions” and “Artificial intelligence in healthcare: computer vision”.
