Exclusivity at the highest level: Rolls-Royce showed Arcadia Droptail for 2.3 billion rubles

The luxury British manufacturer presented another version in the unique Droptail line. The creators spent more than 8 thousand hours developing the coating and processing 233 wood elements for interior trim.

Rolls-Royce showed the result of its project to create exclusive cars, this time it was the Arcadia Droptail roadster. This two-door car was created by Rolls-Royce Coachbuild. Let us remind you that this unique line was opened by La Rose Noire Droptail, which debuted during Monterey Car Week, and then the manufacturer showed Amethyst Droptail.

The Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail was named after the mythical kingdom of Arcadia: according to ancient Greek mythology, this place is “heaven on earth.” It is known that a buyer for this unique car has already been found: the roadster was created taking into account the client’s wishes. The cost of Arcadia Droptail is a very immodest 20 million pounds sterling, which is equivalent to approximately 2.3 billion rubles at the current exchange rate.

The company said that the Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail was inspired by the architecture of Indonesia, Singapore and Vietnam, hot rods and the interiors of classic executive cars. One of the main features of this roadster is the unique two-tone body color: the main color is solid white with the addition of aluminum and glass particles, and the lower part is made of carbon fiber painted silver.

The interior of the Arcadia Droptail is no less special: in the interior decoration, the developers used many wood panels, in particular, rosewood was chosen for this. This became a definite challenge for the creators, since this valuable wood is difficult to machine and is prone to cracking. To protect wood in tropical climates, a special varnish was developed that does not have to be “renewed” during operation. Rolls-Royce estimates that over 8,000 hours were spent developing the coating and processing of 233 wood elements.

Another important element in the cabin is the clock mounted on the dashboard, its design is Rolls-Royce's own. The company said the watch is the most complex of its kind ever developed by the British manufacturer. This element required two years of research and five months of assembly.

But the “filling” of the exclusive two-seater roadster is no different: under the hood of this car there is a 6.75-liter V12 biturbo engine familiar to fans of the brand, with a power of 600 hp, its maximum torque is 840 Nm. This roadster accelerates from zero to “hundreds” in about five seconds, the maximum speed is limited to 250 km/h.

It is known that the Rolls-Royce Cullinan is preparing for an update: prototypes have already been caught during road tests. At the end of last year, the designer Kolesa.ru took their photographs as the basis for creating renderings demonstrating the potential appearance of the future new product.
