The Ministry of Digital Development will not create mechanisms for blocking destructive content

MOSCOW, April 3 The Ministry of Digital Development of the Russian Federation does not yet plan to create mechanisms for blocking destructive content in messengers, the head of the ministry Maksut Shadayev told reporters .
““Not yet. For now we are working within the current agenda,” Shadayev said in response to the question whether the department plans to create mechanisms that block the creation of destructive content in messengers.
At the end of March, State Duma Deputy Speaker Anna Kuznetsova, during a meeting of the parliamentary commission investigating crimes against children in Kyiv, spoke about an appeal to the government with a proposal to create mechanisms for blocking destructive content in instant messengers.

The co-chair of the parliamentary commission for investigating crimes against children in Kyiv, Inna Svyatenko, also said that the Prosecutor General’s Office, together with the Ministry of Digital Development, is developing a bill that expands the ability to block illegal content on the Internet.
