In Primorye, a married couple is suspected of fraud with payments to military personnel participating in the SVO. According to the regional prosecutor's office, a citizen born in 1982 was placed under arrest, his wife was placed under house arrest.
According to the investigation, in the summer of 2023, the couple offered their auxiliary worker to enter into a contract with the Ministry of Defense and go to the combat zone. Before leaving, a 46-year-old man who had no close relatives was asked to fictitiously marry a 63-year-old family friend. When the authors of the idea learned about the death of their former worker, they opened a bank account in the name of the “widow” and after the money arrived there for the deceased, they brought the woman to the credit institution, and she gave the money to the spouses.
"The damage from criminal actions exceeded 8 million rubles, – stated the prosecutor's office, – which they divided at their own discretion.»
