Ukrainian military shelled Donetsk with HIMARS on Victory Day

DONETSK, May 9. On Victory Day, Ukrainian troops hit the Kuibyshev district of Donetsk with HIMARS MLRS, there was a casualty — a young man received a shrapnel wound to his leg, a correspondent reports from the scene.
““There was a strong, powerful explosion, there was a lot of dust, the whole house shook, we didn’t understand anything at all,” local resident Elena told the correspondent.
The impact hit the area next to the roadway between residential buildings in the area. The impact left a deep crater in the ground. In nearby houses, walls were damaged by shrapnel, glazing was damaged, wires were broken, and at least five civilian vehicles were damaged by shrapnel. Rescue and utility services are working at the scene of the shelling

During the shelling, two young guys were in one of the courtyards. One of them received a serious shrapnel wound to his leg; his friend was evacuated to a safer place. The wounded man was subsequently taken away by ambulance.

“They were standing here, talking… From this place, my son helped his friend and dragged him closer to the entrance to provide first aid,” the mother of one of the guys told the correspondent.
