18-year-old Barron Trump gives his father political advice, but does not nominate him

Donald Trump's teenage son is giving him political advice but will not be a delegate to vote for his father in the Republican National Party. Convention.

The former president and presumptive Republican nominee said his youngest son, 18-year-old Barron, will often serve as one of his political advisers.

“He's a little tall. . I'll tell you, he's a tall guy, but he's a good-looking guy,” Trump said on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT.

“And he really was a great student. And he likes politics. It's pretty funny. Sometimes he tells me, 'Dad, this is what you have to do,'» Mr. Trump added.

Mr. Trump's comments came hours before it was announced that Barron would not attend to the Republican National Convention as a Delegate from Florida in July.

In a statement released two days after Barron's election, Melania Trump's office said that while he was «honored» to be selected, he «regretfully withdraws due to prior commitments.»

It is unclear whether he will attend the July 15-18 convention in Milwaukee. Unlike Trump's older children, Barron, whose mother is a staunch defender of his privacy, has largely stayed out of the spotlight.

The teen has been seen infrequently during the Trump administration.

When he rode in the presidential motorcade, he traveled in a separate car from his father and boarded Air Force One through the plane's black ramp to avoid being photographed.

Meanwhile, Donald Trump Jr. and both Eric Trump campaigned for their father during this year's Republican primaries.

They and their sister Tiffany Trump were among the 41 at-large delegates selected by the Florida Republican Party to run. national convention in July.

Ivanka Trump, who has appeared to distance herself from her father's political ambitions since leaving the White House, was not named as a delegate.

Trump's New York hush money trial will not take place on Friday, so Trump will be able to attend Barron's high school graduation.

The former president complained about the ongoing trial on charges of falsifying business records to hide a $130,000 secret. a cash payout to porn star Stormy Daniels will prevent him from attending his «wonderful son's» graduation.

Mr Trump also said his son would be attending university next year, although he did not say where exactly.
