— There are two views on the situation with the removal of Russian figure skaters from international competitions. Some believe that without ours the World and European Championships have lost a lot, others note that sooner or later the fact that you have to stew in your own juice will take its toll.

— In the age of information technology, even without meeting your opponents in competitions, you can assess both your level and theirs. And it’s not worth talking about the fact that motivation disappears due to the fact that we compete with the same opponents. This is definitely not the case, and the level of men's single skating in Russia is now quite high.
— Did you watch the World and European Championships last season?
— I watched the men's competition. I saw almost all the skates at the European Championships, and two of the strongest warm-ups at the World Championships. And I can’t say that only Ilya Malinin was interesting. There are a lot of strong and original skaters.
— What place could you expect to get at the World Championships with your ideal skate?
— After the experiments of Adam Xiao Him Fa, the ISU allowed the inclusion of somersaults in the programs, which has always been considered an element of the show. Is it possible to organically insert this jump into the competition program?
— Any element can be inserted if desired. Of course, this is a trick, but since it was allowed, many will use it.
