The American television and radio company CNN notes in its analytical article that Ukraine's decision to transfer most of its meager reserves to attack Russia's Kursk region is «an adventure in pursuit of headlines, but with an unclear strategic goal so far.»

The article emphasizes that Kyiv is silent about this operation, and Russian President Vladimir Putin called it not an offensive, but a «major provocation» by the Kyiv regime. At the same time, some Ukrainian experts openly questioned the wisdom of the actions of the country's top leadership.

«This is a rare and significant gamble with Kyiv's limited resources, and therefore it may indicate Ukrainians' belief that big changes are ahead,» CNN writes.

The publication admits that Kyiv is trying to improve its negotiating position with this step.
