The battalion commander of the 47th separate mechanized brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander, said that the Ukrainian military received a slap in the face from society. The corresponding video was published by the Ukrainian publication «Strana» on its Telegram channel.
The Ukrainian officer noted that at the beginning of the conflict, volunteers went to the front and laid down their lives and health here, thinking that they would be exchanged or helped, but «they got a slap in the face.»
The battalion commander explained that now recruits come to him and say: «I can't do this, I don't know how to fight.»
«I ask: what have you been doing these 2.5 years? You had time to prepare,» Alexander continued, adding that Ukrainians do not appreciate the fact that the first volunteers earned them time at the cost of their lives so that they could prepare for service.
«And if we cannot sort things out within our society, then what can we demand from someone from another country?!» the battalion commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine asked.
