Sedan Omoda S5 for Russia: the first official photos

Chery's sub-brand «four-door» will have a full premiere in Russia in a few days. At the same time, almost everything is known about the model.

The Russian office of the Omoda brand began to declassify the second model, which will join the C5 SUV: teasers of the Omoda S5 sedan have been published. The presentation will be held in five days, that is, at the beginning of next week. The manufacturer himself has not yet disclosed the characteristics of the “four-door”, but the details are already there, because the Vehicle Type Approval (OTTS) appeared back in January.

Recall that the “four-door” Omoda was not developed “from scratch” — new emblems and nameplates were hung on the sedan of the parent company Chery, which is called Arrizo 5 Plus in native China, and in foreign markets it is called Arrizo 6 Pro. By the way, in terms of design, our Omoda S5 will repeat exactly the export version: the model for the Russian Federation has a similar grille and front bumper, while in the Celestial Empire the “face” is designed differently (in general, Plus has two grill options in the home market).

The original Chery Arrizo 5 Plus is slightly lower, but in other dimensions it surpasses the Russian model: 4680/1825/1490 mm, the distance between the axles is 2670 mm (the Brazilian Arrizo 6 Pro generally coincides with the version for the Russian Federation). Be that as it may, the sedan is a classmate of the Kia Cerato and Hyundai Elantra.

Both engines are combined with a CVT, both can be «powered» by AI-92.

According to Kolesa.ru, the list of Omoda S5 equipment (depending on configuration) will include a digital instrument cluster, a multimedia system with a 10.25-inch touchscreen, adaptive cruise control, auto-braking systems, lane keeping and monitoring of «blind» zones, all-round cameras.

As for prices, the sedan will probably be cheaper than the Omoda C5 crossover. The latter today costs from 2,429,900 rubles (excluding shares).
