Jean- Bad period Kevin Augustin at Elland Road equates to an expected earnings of £500,000 for every minute he wears a Leeds United shirt. But is he the worst signing in the history of English football?
Telegraph Sport evaluates other applicants:
11. Paul Pogba, Juventus to Manchester United 2016 £89m
There have been glimpses of world-class talent, but the World Cup-winning French maestro has made little impression in a Manchester United shirt since his return from Juventus.
10. Fernando Torres, Liverpool to Chelsea, £50m, 2011
Torres left Liverpool as one of the best strikers in world football. Not to mention the Champions League semi-final decider, the goals dried up as soon as he set foot at Stamford Bridge.

The second half of the famous strike partnership with Andriy Shevchenko in Ukraine. Shevchenko starred at Milan before becoming disillusioned with Chelsea. Meanwhile, Rebrov's time at White Hart Lane was hopeless.
8. Danny Drinkwater, Leicester City to Chelsea, £34.1m, 2017
Drinkwater was on the fringes of England when he moved to Chelsea a year after Leicester won the Premier League. Played 12 Premier League games in his debut season at Chelsea, but then spent several years in the reserves for £100,000 a week.
7. Andy Carroll, Newcastle to Liverpool, £35m 2011
Six goals in 44 league appearances was a big disappointment for a club with a history of great shooters. Injuries hindered his efforts, but he never lived up to the required standard.
6. Alexis Sanchez, Arsenal to Manchester United trade for Henrikh Mkhitaryan, 2018
Like Torres, Sanchez is one of the best or worst signings in the Premier League, depending on which club you ask. The Chilean was one of England's best players at Arsenal but fell through after signing a £14m deal with United.

Graeme Souness was tricked into playing by Dia after he received a call from an impostor posing as George Weah. Came out in the 32nd minute instead of Matt Le Tissier against Leeds.
2. Winston Bogarde, Barcelona to Chelsea, free transfer, 2000
The highest paid reserve team player in the world before Roman Abramovich's reign, when Chelsea were in financial trouble. Received a £40,000-a-week contract but made only nine Premier League appearances before leaving the club in 2004.
According to reports, he regularly traveled to work from the Netherlands, his average salary is around £686,000 per game plus travel expenses, making him one of the most expensive players in history.
1. Jean-Kevin Augustin, RB Leipzig to Leeds United, £15.5m (plus potential £24.5m penalty due to player), 2020
Top three most expensive exits replacement in history. Leeds are confident of the success of their appeal against the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber, but as it stands, the club is required to pay a whopping £24.5m to Augustin for breach of contract.
His short stay at Leeds has already cost the club dearly amid a dispute with RB Leipzig that began in 2021. Elland Road are believed to have already paid £15.5m in compensation. .
