    Tottenham will need more than £50m to sign James Maddison.

    Tottenham Hotspur are poised to sign James Maddison but have been warned that the transfer fee would be in excess of £50m.

    Maddison is a priority target for new Tottenham manager Ange Postekoglou , and the England international will be sold this summer following Leicester. relegated to the Championship.

    The attacking midfielder has just over a year left on his contract, and Postecoglu has given his new club the green light to make an offer this month.

    Leicester, however, are willing to demand a sizeable fee , and it is known that their original asking price is over £50 million.

    While there is acknowledgment that Maddison may be leaving the club, Leicester insists that his market value is high due to a number of factors, including his stats, position and “homegrown” status.

    Rudkin is also working on appointing a new manager, and as he is known to have sped up the interview process this week.

    Dean Smith held talks with Rudkin and Chairman Ayawatt Srivaddhanaprabha last week, which was effectively an interview, and he is still in contention for the job on a full-time basis.< /p>
