Energetic The 36-year-old designer has developed a clothing line and is also a famous singer. She released the single «Secret Place» last month, which peaked at number 30 on the UK Music Week charts this week. Nearly two decades ago, as a teenage singer aspiring to become a global performer, Crews-Dezurn auditioned for American Idol and Simon Cowell, who knew she was also a boxer, told her «you have to make a choice.» She ignored him.
“I was very, very young then and just started boxing. I didn't even make the US team, I had less than 10 fights when I was on this show, but I said that if I don't make it, I will become a world champion, and I became just that. and I'm kind of an «American Idol,» Crus-Dezurn explained to Telegraph Sport. won several amateur titles in the United States, as well as bronze and silver medals at the World Amateur Championships, and in 2016 turned attention to paid titles, having suffered the only defeat in 10 competitions from the American Claressa Shields during her debut.
But now, holding all the world super middleweight belts, Crews-Dezurn will defend his titles against Hartlepool's Savannah Marshall in Manchester in a high-profile fight on Saturday night.
Crews-Dezurn are the undisputed champions and they will be beaten in Manchester. Despite being the undisputed champion, Crews-Dezurn remains an underdog in terms of the bookmakers, but this week she got carried away preparing for her debut in the UK and released his new single to coincide with the fight.
“Honestly, I can't wait to get in the ring against Marshall; I feel that when I have chances against me, I perform better,” replied the boxer from Virginia.
«The UK has been so accommodating, I had a great reception for this song and I feel like it's historic and when you're doing these historic moments and doing these big things you have to make sure you're doing it at the highest level to you can — and have a place on the song chart, be headlining an event in an amazing place — it's just wow!
«The fans have been amazing and supported me this week, but I'm just ready to fight.
< p>“Look, I came here not to drink tea and eat pancakes, I came here to kick her ass. It's true, I respect Savannah, we have history. You signed up to take something from me, and the last person who tried to take something from me was beaten and exposed. The best woman always wins, but I'm the best woman and she doesn't take anything from me.»

This is the moment for Marshall to redeem herself after she lost to Shields in another high-profile fight in the UK last October. Crews-Dezurn won all the super middleweight belts at New York's Madison Square Garden on a historic night last April, on the undercard of Katie Taylor against Amanda Serrano, and insisted that Marshall would be dragged into the trenches. She knows the taste of defeat and has not forgotten it.
“When I got on stage and I was defeated, well I don’t want to talk about defeat, I didn’t make up my mind and to see me rise like a black phoenix and to see me make history in a dominant way, it meant the world to me [to claim the undisputed title in New York]. I felt the presence of my mom, around me was my tribe, they had to experience it and I mean I don't know if I can top it here but it's only one for the books and I wouldn't trade it for the whole world, and I will always take this with me when I am old and gray.»
Turning her attention to Marshall, Cruce-Dezurn explained, «I'm going to win no matter what.» necessary as long as it's legal, you know.”
There was even talk that Crews-Dezurn might sing the US national anthem on Saturday night. She downplays it. “I'm going to do something special, I don't know if I can sing the whole anthem, but I'm a world champion, I love being from the USA, I love people, I love people from all over the world. life, but I'm definitely going to put on a show: you'll get fashion, you'll get entertainment, you'll get a valiant fight, and you'll get me at the end with my hand up, so make sure you're all tuned in.»
Crews -Dezurn remains part of the evolution and revolution of women's boxing and does it in its own way.
