Mexico erected a piece of the Berlin Wall near the US-Mexico border to protest its neighbor's attempts to stop migration.
Despite Joe Biden's first day in office canceled Donald Trump's plans to build a wall between the two countries, he moved forward with small, already contracted projects.
One of them had two levels. the wall in San Diego is 18 feet high, and in some places up to 30 feet.
While the US was building its last stretch across Friendship Park, a cross-border place where separated families could talk through barbed wire, activists and locals Officials denounced the move with a piece of the Berlin Wall.

«May this will be a lesson in building a society that tears down walls and builds bridges,» reads the inscription below a towering Cold War monument attributed to Tijuana Mayor Montserrat Caballero and entitled «A World Without Walls.»
The installation opened on August 13 with a ceremony attended by Ms. Caballero and Marcelo Ebrard, Mexico's former foreign minister and now a leading presidential candidate.
«Why in Tijuana?» Ms. Caballero said.
“How many families have shed blood, labor and their lives to overcome the wall? Social and political conflict is different from the Berlin Wall, but at the end of the day it is a wall. And the wall is always the sphinx that divides and spills the blood of the nation.”
Mr Biden has vowed to reverse many of former President Mr Trump’s migration policy crackdowns, but has equally struggled to stop flow of migrants.

As a record number of migrants were caught illegally crossing the border, he resorted to some Trump-like measures.
The wall now crosses Friendship Park, a cross-border facility , open by then — US First Lady Pat Nixon in 1971 symbolizes binational ties.
For decades, families separated by immigration status met through barbed wire and then through a chain link fence. This is a favorite holiday destination for tourists and residents of Mexico.
