Buffaloes' wide-spaced hooves allow them to navigate muddy swamps with relative ease
Brazilian military police officers were photographed riding water buffaloes while patrolling the island Marajo in the northern state of Para.
Officers use animals as a vehicle to cross otherwise impassable wetlands.

Buffalo's wide hooves allow them to move relatively easily through muddy swamps. and they seem to be well adapted to cope with the extreme heat of the island.
