In the form of a concept, the Changan electrocross with the intracorporate index CD701 was lit up back in 2022, its public premiere took place in April of this year at the Shanghai Auto Show. And a couple of days ago, the company presented a version close to mass production: such an SUV was shown as part of a conference dedicated to the technological achievements of Changan.

By the way, it is not yet known exactly under which brand the crossover will be sold: as Changan or under the new Qiyuan brand. It is possible that subsequently the Chinese will come up with another sub-brand. In particular, on the machine, the characters either EO (letters) or E0 (E with zero) flaunt, although this may be the designation of a new line (or the same trade name).

Local specialized media have already dubbed the Changan CD701 a «pickup capable» crossover. The fact is that instead of the usual tailgate, the SUV has a folding side, and the glass section that acts as a rear window can float onto the roof: that is, indeed, it turns out something like a cargo area.
