The premium sedan of the 2025 model year retained the same line of power units and received more modern electronic components.
Cadillac CT5 came in 2019 to replace the mid-size CTS sedan. The main sales market for the Cadillac CT5 is China; the local version is produced by the SAIC-GM plant in Shanghai; more than 200,000 thousand copies have been sold since its launch, of which about 50,000 were sold in the first three quarters of this year. In the USA, the demand for the Cadillac CT5 is much less, but the premiere of the updated sedan took place here at the Detroit Auto Show that opened today.
The Cadillac CT5 doesn’t have that many new features; all external features are concentrated on the front end: its plastic has become more complex, the radiator grille has increased in size, and the headlights have acquired an intricate appearance with LED “smudges”, as if it were some kind of GAC — the Chinese consumer should be happy.

The interior retained the same front panel with an abundance of physical keys, but a newfangled 33-inch panoramic screen with 9K resolution was attached to it, which is why the height of the left air duct had to be reduced, while the right one remained the same — it turned out somehow clumsy. On the central tunnel, a rotary pressure washer has been preserved, with which you can control the multimedia part of the scoreboard, rather than pointing your finger at it — this is certainly convenient. Modern Google services are integrated into the multimedia system, a 5G Wi-Fi router has been added to the equipment, and electronic driver assistants have been updated.
That's all, actually, the American version of the sedan has no other new features (perhaps the Chinese one will have them). The engines are the same, gasoline, supercharged: 2.0 liters (240 hp, 350 Nm) and 3.0 liter V6 (340 hp, 549 Nm), transmission — only a 10-speed hydromechanical “automatic”. The driving wheels are rear, but for an additional fee an all-wheel drive system with a power take-off clutch on the front axle is offered.
The updated sports versions of the CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing have not yet been declassified, they will be presented separately later . The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, we remind you, is equipped with a 6.2-liter 667-horsepower compressor V8 and it is available in combination with a 6-speed manual transmission — a unique offer in the class of business sedans, which, we want to believe, will remain after restyling.
Production of the restyled Cadillac CT5 at the GM plant in Lansing (Michigan) will begin next spring, prices have not yet been announced.
