The new crossover of the American brand owned by General Motors made its debut at the Detroit Auto Show.
Company GMC has been producing the Acadia crossover since 2006. It changed generation at the beginning of 2016, and the three-row SUV underwent an update in February 2019. Now the manufacturer has declassified the third generation GMC Acadia: this model has become larger compared to its predecessor, received a revised interior, as well as new filling. The new cars will most likely go on sale in the US market in 2024.

The new GMC Acadia crossover is 269 mm longer than its predecessor (the dimensions of the new product are 5186 mm), and its distance between the axles has increased by 213 mm and is now 3070 mm. The width remained the same — 1915 mm, and the height of the American SUV increased by 91 mm to 1836 mm. According to GMC estimates, the new dimensions have increased storage space behind the third-row seats by 80%, as well as 36% more space for second-row passengers.
The GMC Acadia continues to feature a massive grille, the design of which varies depending on the version. So far, the manufacturer has declassified the AT4 and Denali versions: in the first case, the “grill” has a pattern of wavy lines, in the second, the pattern is made in the form of narrow horizontal cells with a dense edging. On the sides there are C-shaped LED running lights in the upper part of which the main headlight units are located.
In profile, you can see the increased area of the side glazing, traditional door handles, as well as linings on the wheel arches (they can be either black or painted in body color). Full roof rails were left on the roof. During the generation change, the feed received lights of a narrower shape, which visually frame the wide strip connecting them (the GMC logo is located in the center of this element). Four square exhaust pipes (two on each side) are integrated into the lower part of the rear bumper.

The new generation GMC Acadia salon (in all versions) has a new “digital layout”: we are talking about an 11-inch diagonal virtual instrument cluster located in front of the driver’s eyes, as well as a modern infotainment system with a 15-inch diagonal portrait touchscreen. Vehicle functions are controlled using buttons on the steering wheel and under the central touchscreen. Note that the luxury version of Denali has several differences, including a Bose sound system with 16 speakers.

Next generation Acadia borrowed technology from the current Chevrolet Traverse, which was introduced in July of this year. Under the hood of the new GMC crossover there is a 333-horsepower 2.5-liter turbo-four, and its maximum torque is 442 Nm. It comes paired with an eight-speed hydromechanical automatic transmission. The drive can be either front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive.
