< p>At the beginning of this week, prices and specifications for the Belgee X50 crossover were announced in Russia — this is now the name of the pristine Geely Coolray, that is, the 2018 model. Belgee is, let us remember, the own brand of the Belarusian joint venture Belgee, which produces the model. The plant needed a separate brand to simplify the localization of the SUV: the company acquired an extended license for the original SUV, and now, in particular, it may not agree on a change of suppliers. Our Belgee X50 sales are handled by the Russian division of Geely, and the original Coolray itself is still in service. However, very soon it will give way to a restyled five-door: today the Geely company shared details about the upcoming new product. By the way, in the release there is not a word about the Belarusian assembly, that is, Geely Coolray will apparently be supplied to us directly from China.

It was decided to bring the crossover to Russia after the second restyling. In its homeland, such an SUV debuted last year, where the model is called Geely Binyue Cool. The SUV received new headlights and taillights, the hood, bumpers and tailgate were also replaced, and the radiator grille is now “solid” and in a mesh, although the top edging-shield was left. The length of the new Geely Coolray is 4380 mm, width – 1810 mm, height – 1615 mm. For comparison, the dimensions of the previous Russian cross (and Belgee X50): 4330/1800/1609 mm. The wheelbase has not changed — 2600 mm.

The interior of our facelifted Geely Coolray has not yet been shown, but it is most likely the same as in China. There is a new front panel, steering wheel, central tunnel, door cards and box joystick. The instrument panel is now visually integrated with the multimedia system screen, although these are still two separate displays. Instead of a climate control unit with washers, there is a row of buttons.

The 1.5 petrol turbo engine was replaced by a four-cylinder turbo engine of the same volume. It was announced that the turbo-four in the Russian crossover produces 147 hp. and 270 Nm, while the power of the previous engine in the Russian Federation is 150 hp. (but the torque is lower — 255 Nm). In China, the new 1.5T is tuned to 181 hp. and 290 Nm. Geely Coolray still has a seven-speed robotic gearbox with two clutches, front-wheel drive only.

In Russia, the updated SUV will be available in four trim levels: Comfort, Luxury, Flagship and Exclusive. Compared with its predecessor, the basic version has become richer: heated rear seats have been added (the cheapest pre-reform Coolray has heated only front seats), heated steering wheel and the entire windshield (previously there was heated windshield wiper rest area), “leather” upholstery. The list of standard equipment for the Comfort version also includes 17-inch wheels, LED DRLs built into the headlights, a digital monochrome instrument panel and a multimedia system (10.25 and 12.3 inches, respectively, the previous crossover has smaller screens), an electromechanical parking brake with a hold function AutoHold, stability control system, pair of airbags, start-stop system, engine start button, rear view camera, cruise control.

The Luxury package includes 18-inch black wheels, a panoramic sunroof, electric folding exterior mirrors, a color virtual instrument panel, side airbags and a keyless entry system. Geely Coolray Flagship also includes vertical running lights in the bumper, red brake calipers, a black roof, a spoiler, an electric tailgate, wireless charging for a smartphone, upholstery with suede inserts, metal pedals, a standard video recorder, curtain airbags, all-round cameras, adaptive cruise, auto braking, lane marking and blind spot monitoring systems. Finally, the Exclusive version was distinguished by two-tone wheels of the original design and an exclusive body color “Purple Pearl”.

The updated Geely Coolray will go on sale in the near future, prices have not yet been announced. The pre-reform crossover now costs 2,329,990 — 2,739,990 rubles, while until the end of September, when purchasing a Coolrey, there is a direct discount in the amount of 25,000 to 175,000 rubles (depending on the configuration; there are other special offers). The Belgee X50 SUV will cost 2,235,990 – 2,445,990 rubles (excluding shares).
