Hunter Biden is suing Rudy Giuliani and his former lawyer for allegedly “hacking” his laptop and leaking his data to the media.
< p>The son of the US president has filed a lawsuit against Giuliani and Robert Costello, allies of Donald Trump, over allegations that they illegally accessed his laptop data.
Mr Biden said that the two The men were sent a copy of his hard drive by the owner of the computer store where he allegedly left his laptop for repairs.
He said they had spent an «extraordinary amount». time and energy to search, hack, falsify, manipulate, copy, distribute and generally obsess over the data» from the laptop.
Mr. Giuliani allegedly took data from the laptop, which suggests Joe Biden met with his Ukrainian employers son and turned him over to reporters at The New York Post.
The allegation that the president had improper involvement in his son's business dealings has since become the center of a Republican congressional impeachment inquiry.
Mr. Giuliani has repeatedly discussed Mr. Biden's laptop and claimed to have access to its contents.
In February of this year, during an episode of his show America's Mayor Live, Mr. Giuliani raised his hand laptop and told viewers, “This belongs to Hunter Biden.”
The lawsuit alleges that the former New York mayor then “proceeded to boast that he had copied [Hunter Biden’s] data onto his computer and also obtained accessed, analyzed and manipulated the transmitted data.»
The lawsuit also alleges that Mr. Giuliani and Costello, his former lawyer, violated state and federal data privacy laws in connection with a hard drive allegedly copied from his laptop.

G — Mr Biden claims Mr Giuliani first gained access to his data when he was contacted by John Paul Mac Isaac, the former owner of a computer repair shop in Delaware where he reportedly left the computer.
The lawsuit alleges that Mr. Biden Mr. Mac Isaac contacted Mr. Costello and Mr. Giuliani using a contact form on their website and told them that he was «trying to quietly bring this to people's attention.» for «almost a year.»
It says Mr Mac Isaac then sent Mr Costello a hard drive containing a copy of Mr Biden's files via FedEx and claims the couple then accessed data and “manipulated” them.
Mr. Biden's lawyers cited a laptop story published in New York Magazine in September 2022, which alleged that Mr. Costello showed the data to a reporter and entered a copy of Mr. Biden's hard drive using his name.< /p>
They also claimed that the pair worked with Steve Bannon on Hard Drive, in a project they allegedly called the «Manhattan Project» because it was a «political nuclear weapon.»

Both Biden and Giuliani have already faced criminal charges in separate cases.
Mr. Biden is charged with violating federal gun laws after he allegedly bought a gun while addicted to illegal drugs.
The case was brought by David Weiss, a government lawyer who was given special counsel . status to investigate the claims independently of the Justice Department.
Mr. Biden has already sued the Internal Revenue Service, alleging that a whistleblower from the agency violated his confidentiality.
Data from his laptop was also used House Republicans are investigating his father to build the case for impeachment.
