MOSCOW, November 13. Director Alexander Mitta is in the Botkin hospital for examination, his condition is satisfactory, said his assistant Gennady Ivanov.
Earlier, in the Telegram channel of the director’s film school, they reported that Alexander Mittu, who was suffering from pneumonia, was urgently hospitalized; he became sharply worse due to a stroke.
“Yes, he is being examined at the Botkin hospital, he feels more or less like this, the diagnosis is still unclear,” said the assistant director. On Sunday, Ivanov reported that the director was called an ambulance due to a rise in temperature, but was left for home treatment. He noted that the last time he met with Mitta was a month ago and he was “in a cheerful state.”
Film director, actor, screenwriter, People's Artist of Russia Alexander Mitta was born on March 28, 1933 in Moscow. He graduated from the directing department of VGIK, where his mentor was People's Artist of the USSR Mikhail Romm. The director's film debut took place in 1961, when he directed the film ''My Friend, Kolka!'' together with Alexei Saltykov. Mitta also directed the films ''Shine, Shine, My Star'', ''The Crew'', ''The Tale of How Tsar Peter Married an Arab'', and the TV series ''Border. Taiga Romance'' and others.
