MOSCOW, November 15. Director Alexander Mitta is in the intensive care unit of the Botkin Hospital, his condition is unstable, diagnostics are underway, said his assistant Gennady Ivanov.
Earlier on Sunday, he told the agency that Mitte was called an ambulance due to a rise in temperature, but was left for home treatment. Ivanov noted that the last time he met with Mitta was a month ago, and he was “in a cheerful state.” On Monday, he said that the director was in the hospital for examination.
““He is in intensive care, his condition is unstable,” the assistant director said on Wednesday.
In addition, the director is still undergoing examination. “I can’t say anything while the diagnosis is underway,” Ivanov emphasized and added that at that age “anything can happen.”
Film director, actor, screenwriter, People's Artist of Russia Alexander Mitta was born on March 28, 1933 in Moscow. He graduated from the directing department of VGIK, where his mentor was People's Artist of the USSR Mikhail Romm. The director's film debut took place in 1961, when he directed the film ''My Friend, Kolka!'' together with Alexei Saltykov. Mitta also directed the films ''Shine, Shine, My Star'', ''The Crew'', ''The Tale of How Tsar Peter Married an Arab'', and the TV series ''Border. Taiga Romance'' and others.
