YAROSLAVL, November 20The police are conducting an investigation after the publication of numerous videos of actor Sergei Chirkov’s inappropriate behavior at a children’s talent competition in Obninsk, Kaluga region, where he smoked on stage and swore in front of children, a representative of the regional Ministry of Internal Affairs reported.
«Police officers are conducting an inspection, the circumstances are being established. Based on its results, a decision will be made in accordance with current legislation,» said a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The interlocutor noted that the check began after monitoring the media and social networks.

The prosecutor's office also became involved in clarifying the circumstances of the incident. “An investigation has been organized into the incident involving a guest actor at the youth competition “Street Energy” in Obninsk. Prosecutors are studying video materials and documents on the preparation and conduct of the event, interviewing the organizers and participants,” reports the prosecutor’s office of the Kaluga region; based on the results of the inspection, prosecutorial response measures will be taken.
Previously, the Obninsk administration announced that on November 19, the final of the youth patriotic project “Energy of the Streets” for children and youth (12+) will be held at the Palace of Culture. The project is aimed at identifying and supporting talented children and adolescents. Sergei Chirkov (the film «Brownie») was invited as a special guest.
The director of the Palace of Culture, Irina Pakhomova, said that she personally expelled Chirkov from the institution and sent him to Moscow, emphasizing that the event did not need his participation. According to her, the actor was invited as a media personality to attract attention to the competition, and intended to participate without a fee, on a voluntary basis. According to the director, Chirkov did not apologize to the organizers and participants of the competition for his behavior.
