“A powerful explosion, the house almost collapsed”: Kiev residents are horrified by the consequences of the night raid

The city is strewn with the wreckage of air defense missiles

Half of Kiev is in smoke, the private sector is burning, flooded streets and underground passages, huge craters in courtyards – this is the result of a night strike by Russian missiles on Kyiv. More precisely, all of the above is the result of attempts by the Ukrainian air defense to shoot down these missiles; all the damage in the city was caused by fragments of anti-aircraft missiles falling from the sky. What the residents of Kiev themselves no longer hesitate to write about in their public pages.

At the same time, the air raid alarm began to blare after powerful explosions occurred in Kyiv. As Mayor Klitschko explained this morning, “Kyiv was attacked with ballistics, so the interval between the alarm and the explosions was short.” That is, Ukrainian air defense simply did not have time to respond to incoming missiles. But I worked actively, and the results were immediate. As military observer Sergei Lebedev, who receives information from Kyiv, reports in his Telegram channel, for every hit we hit on targets in Kyiv, there are three more hits from local air defense.

According to the Kyiv authorities, all the missiles were shot down at night. True, Kyiv officials are confused in their testimony. The head of the Presidential Office, Andrei Yermak, said that Russian missiles were aimed at infrastructure facilities. And how would he know this if the missiles were supposedly shot down? In any case, some houses in the Dnieper district of the city were left without electricity at night. And, according to Ermak, the Russians fired at Kyiv with anti-aircraft missiles. After all, most of the debris that fell on civilian objects belongs to air defense missiles.

And here’s what the Kiev residents themselves say about this in Sergei Lebedev’s telegram channel: “A dozen powerful explosions, the house almost collapsed. It is unclear where they were aiming, but the alarm was sounded after the bombing. This is Kyiv, the Left Bank.” “So far, local networks are reporting that shrapnel fell in the Dnieper region, cars were burned, and a house was damaged. But the explosions were very powerful, I thought the glass would fly out. To be honest, I don’t even remember this happening, even a year ago, when the lights were cut off. And then it was somehow quieter.” “Well, this is Ukrainian air defense – even in pro-Ukrainian channels, Kievans write about this in the comments.”

The results of this night “boom” are as follows: on Perov Boulevard the water supply was broken and the passage was flooded, the street turned into a river. In the Desnyansky district, the facade of a house was damaged by debris, a fire occurred on the 7th floor of a 9-story residential building and 8 cars in the courtyard of the house. 17 people were evacuated from their homes. In the Goloseevsky district, debris fell on the roadway. In the Darnitsky district, a private house with an area of 400 m2 caught fire. In the Dnieper region, the blast wave broke windows in two residential buildings, a private house caught fire, and three more houses were damaged by debris, but without fire. In total, according to Mayor Klitschko, there are 51 victims in the city, no deaths.

This is what the Ukrainian media write about. But here is information from military observers who receive data from Kyiv from their informants. “Hits were recorded on one of the air defense systems, there was “fun” at the airfield, again a communications center and a hangar with supposedly stored drones,” reports the Sheikh Tamir channel. By the way, according to the channel, fragments of a Western air defense anti-aircraft missile fell on the Desnyansky district of Kyiv. “Oddly enough, Western junk is falling even more actively than Soviet S-300s,” writes the observer.
