The Faculty of Computer Science of the National Research University Higher School of Economics and Central University are launching a joint undergraduate program “Design and Development of Information Products.” Its goal is to improve the quality of training of specialists in the field of information systems design and data engineering.
Graduates will receive two higher education diplomas: from the National Research University Higher School of Economics in the specialty «software engineering» and from the Central University in majoring in mathematics and computer science. Tinkoff became the industrial partner of the program.
The program prepares specialists who will be able to participate in the development of IT products at all stages, from requirements gathering to operation and reliability. The program pays special attention to the design stage of information products, since it is a key stage in hiring for many companies.
The educational process is designed in such a way that after the first year, students will immediately be able to develop small information products. The program will also focus on software architecture, creation of fault-tolerant systems, data engineering, development of effective algorithms, technologies for storing and processing large amounts of data and information security.
An important component of the program will be introducing students to product approach, which is widely used in Tinkoff and other large companies.
The program's teachers are expert practitioners and employees of the most sought-after employer companies in the IT industry, retail, industry, e-commerce and other industries. They will teach applied disciplines and offer students current business problems in the field of design and development of IT products. Thanks to this, students will already master key skills that are in demand from leading employers in Russia already at the training stage.
Bachelor's studies will begin in September 2024. The first cohort will include 50 students.
Recruitment and training conditions
The applicant must submit the results of the unified state exams in the following subjects: mathematics, Russian language, computer science and ICT.
Acceptance of documents will start in June 2024. Studying in the program is paid, but students will be able to receive discounts of up to 90% for Olympiad achievements and high Unified State Exam scores. All discounts will be provided through donations from industrial partner Tinkoff.
Students can take out an educational loan to study in this program. During your studies, the monthly payment will only include interest on the loan, and repayment of the principal will begin a few months after receiving your diploma and can last up to 15 years. This increases the accessibility of education and potentially increases the number of qualified personnel in all spheres of the economy.
This academic year, a new Olympiad from the Higher School of Economics, Central University and Tinkoff will be launched for schoolchildren aged 9–11 classes, which will introduce applicants, including to the new bachelor's degree. The Olympiad focuses on industrial development: the ability to independently find solutions to applied problems and the skills to work in a team with other programmers. Diploma recipients of this Olympiad will receive discounts covering up to 90% of the cost of training in the new bachelor's degree.
On December 24, at the open day you can find out more information and ask all your questions about the program. You can join using the link.
