KAZAN, December 14< /strong> The Tatarstan prosecutor's office is asking the court to recover from Ilnaz Galyaviev, sentenced to life imprisonment for the murder of nine people in Kazan gymnasium No. 175, 1.4 million rubles for damage caused to the school, the supervisory agency reports.

Currently, Galyaviev is serving his sentence in Correctional Colony No. 6 (“Black Dolphin”) in the city of Sol-Iletsk, Orenburg Region. This is the largest special regime colony in the country.
In Kazan, on May 11, 2021, then 19-year-old Galyaviev staged an explosion and shooting at gymnasium No. 175, killing seven children and two teachers, and injuring 24 more people.
On April 13, the Supreme Court of Tatarstan sentenced Galyaviev to life imprisonment in a special regime correctional colony with a fine of 200 thousand rubles. The appeal court subsequently confirmed the verdict.
