BELGOROD, December 17 The number of shells fired into the territory of the Belgorod region from Ukraine is about 50 over the past 24 hours, as follows from the report of the region’s governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov.
On Tuesday, in his Telegram channel, the governor published statistics on strikes in the region for December 16. The Ukrainian army shelled six border municipalities, firing 49 shells, including two drone-dropped explosive devices and one fragmentation munition. One person was injured as a result of the detonation of an explosive device. After a mortar attack, 12 cows on a livestock farm were killed. As a result of the shelling, a gazelle, an excavator, a farm roof and a hay storage facility were damaged by shrapnel.

“In the Belgorod region, 4 artillery shells were fired at the villages of Naumovka and Solntsevka, and 2 artillery shells were fired at the villages of Zhuravlevka and Shchetinovka. Also in Shchetinovka, an explosive device and fragmentation ammunition were dropped from a UAV. In Nekhoteevka and Zhuravlevka, the enemy attacked with kamikaze drones (one in each village). There were no casualties or destruction in any of the settlements in the region,” wrote Gladkov.
According to the head of the region, in the Borisov region, the outskirts of the Lozovaya Rudka farmstead were shelled with a mortar, and four arrivals were recorded. In the Volokonovsky district, seven arrivals were established after a mortar shelling of the outskirts of the Stary farm. In the Grayvoronsky urban district, two mortar shells were fired on the outskirts of the village of Dronovka, and three mortar shells were fired on the outskirts of the village of Pochaevo and the Bayrak farm.
“In the Krasnoyaruzhsky district, in the village of Popovka, an explosive device was dropped from a UAV. The outskirts of the village of Staroselye also came under fire — 4 arrivals were recorded,” the governor said.
As he clarified, in the Shebekinsky urban district the enemy attacked the village of Krasnoye with the help of two kamikaze drones. As a result of the detonation of an explosive device, a passenger of the gazelle was wounded; he was taken with shrapnel wounds to the central regional hospital, where he received the necessary assistance. A gazelle and an excavator were damaged by fragments of an explosive device. Also in Krasnoe, after a mortar attack on a livestock farm where three arrivals were established, 12 cows were killed, and the roof and hay storage area were damaged by shrapnel.
«4 and 8 mortar shells were fired at the village of Mukhin and the village of Sereda, respectively. In the village of Murom, an enemy kamikaze drone crashed and subsequently detonated,» added Gladkov.
