MOSCOW, December 18 The Investigative Committee of Russia confirmed the detention of the head of the State Emergency Management Directorate for the Samara Region Oleg Boyko for bribes worth 25 million rubles: the money was paid by businessmen for patronage, the department said in a statement.
Earlier, a representative of the emergency services said that Major General Oleg Boyko was detained for receiving over 25 million rubles: according to operational data, the officer had long been a patron of a group of companies in the field of fire safety.
«The Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case against the head of the State Emergency Management Directorate for the Samara Region Oleg Boyko and two representatives of a commercial organization… The suspects were detained. The issue of choosing a preventive measure for him is being decided,” says the Telegram channel of the RF IC.
According to the agency, Boyko received bribes from representatives of a commercial organization “in the amount of over 25 million rubles for patronage while performing work in in the field of fire safety organization.»
Judging by the biographical information on the website of the head office, Boyko has been heading the State Emergency Management Directorate for the Samara region for almost 10 years; he was appointed to this post on March 14, 2014. He was awarded the medal of the Order of Merit Fatherland» II degree.
