Squally winds of up to 25 meters per second caused massive power disruptions in 57 settlements of the Republic of Dagestan.
How informs the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, as of 18 pm, more than 127 thousand consumers remain without electricity.
The head of the republic, Sergei Melikov, previously admitted that the electrical networks in Dagestan are extremely worn out and are in disrepair. Deterioration, as noted by local media, is facilitated by mining and illegal connections to networks. The problems of Soviet networks became especially clear against the backdrop of the tourism boom and economic growth.
