IRKUTSK, December 25 In the basement of an apartment building in Irkutsk, police officers and an animal nursery caught a lynx, reports the GUMVD for the Irkutsk region on the Telegram channel.
The police received a message from a resident of the Leninsky district of Irkutsk, who said that a lynx had been spotted in a house on 31 Novatorov Street.
“The district police commissioner who arrived at the indicated place and the nursery staff inspected the basement of the building and set a trap to catch the wild animal. When the animal again climbed out through the basement vent into the street, it was caught in a cage. At the moment, the nursery workers are determining the future fate of the lynx,” — the message says.
On its page on the social network VKontakte, the K-9 nursery outlined the details of the story. Experts searched for the lynx in the basement for several hours. We found remains of rodents and dead kittens. After the animal was caught, the cage was carried into the car. But there the lynx got out and began to “manage” the cabin. As a result, the car that was abandoned by people became the cage for the predator. The car was taken by tow truck to the nursery and there the lynx was moved to an enclosure. At this time, the animal cannot be released into the wild. This will happen when the lynx regains its health; now it is too exhausted to survive in the winter forest.
Last week, in another district of Irkutsk, security officers at one of their enterprises called the police because video cameras recorded a lynx on the premises.
