MOSCOW, December 30 Ten people, including one child, became victims of the Ukrainian troops’ attack on Belgorod, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
““In Belgorod, nine adults and one child were killed due to shelling by the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” says a publication on the department’s Telegram channel.
In addition, 45 people were injured, including four children. Further information is being clarified.
Previously, six dead and 24 injured were reported.
In turn, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said that a team of doctors was allocated for Belgorod as part of the Ministry of Health group. He also called the incident a “senseless, brutal terrorist attack” and expressed condolences to the families and friends of the victims.

““We have close fraternal ties with Belgorod. If necessary, we will provide the necessary assistance to restore the city,” he wrote in the Telegram channel.
Later, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov said that on instructions from Vladimir Putin she flew to Belgorod a team from the Ministry of Health led by Minister Mikhail Murashko. In addition, a group from the Ministry of Emergency Situations was sent there to provide assistance to the victims.
The incident was reported earlier today by the Governor of the Belgorod Region, Vyacheslav Gladkov. A missile warning siren was launched in the city, the head of the region called on residents to go to shelters.
As the correspondent said, the explosions occurred at about 15:00, after which black smoke appeared in the sky. Soon the siren began to sound and sounded for at least ten minutes. Security services blocked the intersection of Bogdan Khmelnitsky Street and Slavy Avenue in the center of Belgorod.
The city launched a single hotline at number “122” to receive reports of damage and casualties.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces regularly shell Russian border territories, carry out drone strikes and carry out sabotage. In particular, last night the Ukrainian army also tried to attack the Belgorod region using rockets. Air defense forces destroyed 13 missiles.
As Gladkov later clarified, a man was killed when a shell hit a private house. Four people, including a ten-year-old child, were injured. In addition, ten private houses, two cars and a water supply system were damaged.
A high (yellow) level of terrorist threat has been established throughout the Belgorod region since April 11, 2022. This is necessary due to the aggravation of the situation on the Ukrainian-Russian border and the increased activity of the enemy army in the border areas.
