MOSCOW, 30 DecThe head of the State Duma Committee on Culture, Elena Yampolskaya, believes that such tectonic shifts on the stage and in show business, which occurred after blogger Anastasia Ivleeva’s “almost naked party,” have been “awaited for decades.”
In her Telegram channel, she reflects on whether this year she should break tradition and watch the New Year's show on television.
“Let him be ashamed who thinks badly about this: such tectonic shifts on the stage and in show business have been fruitlessly yearning for decades. And they got it in one evening,” wrote Yampolskaya, citing a phrase attributed to King Edward III of England, which became motto of the Order of the Garter, and jokingly suggesting the idea of the «Order of the Sock».
Writer Zakhar Prilepin, also reflecting on this topic, expressed the opinion that without the situation with the party, “Russia would not have had a single chance to get rid of” some of those who “occupied New Year’s television.”
«They, all these beautiful people in shorts, would forever sit on the country's neck,» he wrote in his Telegram channel.
The party organized by Ivleeva in the Moscow club «Mutabor» with a dress code requiring one to appear half-naked, caused a negative resonance in society. Ivleeva and a number of participants were forced to make excuses, the Khamovnichesky Court of Moscow registered a class action lawsuit against the blogger for a billion rubles in compensation for moral damage, and rapper Vacío, who sported one sock over his genitals, was arrested for 15 days.
