A resident from Nizhny Novgorod was sent under arrest for rainbow earrings
A resident from Nizhny Novgorod was sentenced to five days of administrative arrest for wearing rainbow earrings.
As the Egida Telegram channel learned, the incident occurred January 29. Young people approached the girl and began to demand that she remove the forbidden symbols from herself, while recording the entire action on video. They posted the footage on the Internet, and the girl was summoned for questioning to the center for countering extremism. There she was detained and left until the trial, which took place the next day.
The court charged the girl under Article 0.3, Part 1 of the Administrative Code “Public display of symbols of an extremist organization.” According to the lawyer, the court did not clarify what exactly the symbol was and what signs it had. There were formal references to the legal language of the Supreme Court Decision of November 30, 2023 recognizing the International LGBT Movement as an extremist organization. The earrings themselves were also reviewed. It was found that they were made in the shape of a frog with an image of a seven-color rainbow.
The defendant's defense tried to prove that there was no offense here. None of the interrogated employees who drew up the report could say what symbols were shown by the girl. The client's lawyer will file an appeal.
