YEKATERINBURG, January 31 The Nevyansk City Court of the Sverdlovsk Region arrested the owner of the bus on which a children's hockey team was involved in an accident and the coach was killed, the court's press service reports.
On Monday morning, at the 4th kilometer of the approach to the village of Verkh-Neyvinsky, a bus transporting a children's hockey team to Novouralsk had a tire burst; it drove into the oncoming lane, where it collided with a Citroën passenger car. Both vehicles slid into a ditch.
On the bus were 18 players of the Kedr hockey team, aged 15 to 16 years, who were returning from competitions from the Chelyabinsk region. Four people died in the accident: three from the car, as well as the coach of the hockey team. Two teenagers were hospitalized in a Yekaterinburg hospital, one of them is in serious condition.
“By order of the court, the accused Yevgeny Lobov was taken into custody until March 28 inclusive,” the court said.
As added to the SUCC, criminal cases of providing unsafe services and violating traffic rules are combined into one proceeding.
