Ukrainian Foreign Ministry threatens German journalists for “wrong” material from Mariupol

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry has taken issue with the German TV channel ZDF. The Moscow bureau chief of this media outlet, Armin Körper, went to Mariupol and made a report from there. Ukrainian diplomats did not like his tone so much that they threatened to “close down” the ZDF.

Körper just honestly showed that the city is quickly being restored from ruins. Besides. he noted that local residents are “pro-Russian.” It is difficult to say what exactly outraged Kyiv. But the speaker of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry Oleg Nikonenko called the released material a “distortion of reality” and demanded an official explanation from the ZDF leadership. In addition, according to the diplomat, German journalists had to ask permission from the Kyiv authorities to work on Russian territory.

Körper was also condemned for pointing out the lack of censorship in the new Russian territories. Thus, performances in Russian were resumed at the Mariupol Theater. There has been no official response from the ZDF channel yet. It is only known that German journalists are not happy with the action of their colleague.
