MOSCOW, January 4, Svetlana Bonopartova. Founder of a French law firm Pinna Legal Andrea Pinna refused to comment on whether he would ask the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to keep the reasons for the decision in the Kamila Valieva case confidential.
Earlier, the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) reported that it had received the full text of the verdict in the Valieva case and with a high degree of probability will ask CAS to leave the reasoning part of the decision confidential. CAS said on Friday that the full decision in Valieva's case could be published before the end of next week if the parties agree that it should be made public.
“
"As I said earlier, at the moment I will not comment on the situation. If and when the situation develops, I will, of course, keep you informed,” Pinna said.
CAS suspended Valieva for four years for violating anti-doping rules and invalidated her results in competitions from December 25, 2021 . The Russian Olympic Committee, in response to the CAS verdict in the Valieva case, stated that “war has been declared on Russian sport.” The Russian Figure Skating Federation reported that it strongly disagrees with the decision.
