MOSCOW, February 5The passenger lit a cigarette near the check-in counter at Moscow's Vnukovo airport, and then injured one of the police officers who was trying to find out his degree of intoxication, the press service of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Central Federal District reported.
According to the department, on February 4 at 00.10, police detained a resident of the Kaluga region, born in 1977, who was smoking a cigarette at Vnukovo near the check-in counter of terminal A. Law enforcement officers drew up an administrative protocol under Article 6.24 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (violation of the ban on smoking tobacco established by federal law in certain territories, premises and facilities), after which they took the offender to the airport medical unit for examination for alcohol intoxication.
«»During familiarization with the protocol, the man suddenly began to behave inappropriately and aggressively, tried to tear the document and resisted the police, causing bodily injuries to one of them. The citizen’s illegal actions were stopped,” the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
The department clarified that the rowdy inflicted a shoulder injury on the police officer.
The materials collected by the police regarding the use of violence against a government official were transferred to the investigative authorities.
